We Use Minimally Invasive Procedures for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Several Conditions
Although they aren’t all the same, we address several conditions here because of our approach to diagnosis and treatment. You may come to us with pelvic pain, heavy bleeding or other such symptoms. We take your symptoms seriously and set out with a goal of identifying the cause and providing treatment to restore your life.
We specialize in care for the following conditions:
Ovarian cysts
During childbearing years, it is common for a small cyst (a fluid-filled sac or pouch) to form on the ovary. In most cases, such cysts are harmless and go away on their own. In other cases they may cause a dull or sharp ache in the abdomen and require treatment. Once the condition is diagnosed, we offer removal by laparoscopic excision and medical prevention. Read more.
Fibroids
These growths form on the inside, outside or within the wall of the uterus in about 25 – 50% of all women. They are usually benign (noncancerous). Some remain small and cause no symptoms. For other women, fibroids can cause pressure, pain and heavy periods and can require treatment. Read more.
Endometriosis
Endometriosis is a disease in which the lining of the uterus (or endometrium) grows elsewhere, such as on the ovaries, outside of the uterus or elsewhere in the abdomen. It can cause pain, from mild to severe. Severe endometriosis may also lead to infertility. Read more
We use advanced laparoscopy for the diagnosis and treatment of these and many conditions. During this outpatient procedure, Dr. Morrison inserts a scope into your abdomen through a small incision. He is able to see reproductive and other organs and diagnose conditions that may cause pain, bleeding or other symptoms.
This procedure does not require an overnight hospital stay, and most women can return to work in a matter of days.
